The Gold Lame Shirt
I got this top on Threadflip from fellow blogger Krystal of This Time Tomorrow and I am totally in love with it. I love the simple T-shirt cut and how relaxed the fit is, it makes it easy to wear in the daylight without looking too “Night at the Roxbury” but mostly, I love that I got it for much less than retail- Threadflip is such a fab site that allows you to easily buy and sell gently used clothing and accessories- you set the prices so you get the most from your items, no more snooty buyers at consignment stores judging your clothes and rejecting them for whatever reason they invent… The best part though, is that you can follow your favorite people – people with great style, like Krystal, and me ;) or people who are exactly your size, and be alerted when they post new items for sale.
The Perfect Bag
You’ve all seen this bag before, but for my favorite things month of posts I have to mention why I love it so much, and why it ranks up there as a true favorite. It costs around $350, which to be honest is the most I’ve ever paid for a bag, but it was so worth it. The color is the perfect warm neutral called “Saddle” and the leather is buttery soft. The three giant sections help me stay organized and the zippers slide easily and magnet into place to keep it looking neat. This bag is massive, like the J.Crew website says “it’s a can-do carryall with effortless elegance and enough room for an iPad, an umbrella and even your cashmere cardigan” and they’re being modest. I have stuffed as much as fifteen pounds of god-knows-what into this bag and the handles stay strong and the leather around the handles isn’t showing any signs of wear. I do however have one tiny suggestion if you do purchase this bag: spray it with a leather protector. I skipped this step and I need to take it in for a cleaning soon, after it’s clean again, I’ll spray it with any basic footlocker leather spray.
P.S. This fabulous bag comes in Black, Navy and Red (Red is $100 less!!) I am so tempted to buy them all, including the medium Biennial satchel which is a two pocket version that comes in a gorgeous green as well as this tan and black.
